European Countries See Highest-Ever Coronavirus Numbers

The European continent is now seeing an average of 100,000 new coronavirus cases daily. In light of the second wave in new cases, restrictions(ograniczenia) will be taking effect in Italy, the Czech Republic, France, and other parts of Europe. Hence, efforts are being made to strengthen hospital capacity, to accommodate(pomieścić) the new patients.

The infection rate for Europe has been increasing steadily for 77 days, as per the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control’s weekly report.

Italy recorded its largest total of cases in a day, with more than 7,300 new cases. As a result, new limits are to be put on social gatherings(spotkania towarzyskie) and school activities. France to start nightly curfews(godzina policyjna) in Paris and eight other parts of France. The Czech Republic put a halt(postój) to schools and other social places. A partial lockdown to be conducted in The Netherlands

The U.K. introduced a three-tier alert system, as to avoid a national lockdown. Liverpool is the only region under a “very high” alert, so far. People partied in the streets to take advantage of the last few hours before restrictions were imposed.
